Step 2 · The First Sanding Pass

Grab some fine-grit sandpaper and give every surface that's going to get paint a quick pass. All you're doing is creating a mechanical profile for the primer to grab onto. You can never go wrong by sanding. Pay close attention to any rough spots or mill marks from the factory.
